Westcountry Housing is a member of Westward Housing Group, a non-profit making organisation and one of the largest developing housing groups in the area, with more than 6000 properties in management and a turnover in excess of £20 million. The Group is a charity providing a wide range of housing for families, single people, the elderly and those with additional support needs.
The main focus of work will be at Springhill Flats in Tavistock. These properties provide six affordable short stay accommodation units for families who are to be re-housed. Residents are referred from West Devon Borough Council’s (WDBC) Housing Advice service. The successful candidate will work closely with WDBC and be based in their offices.
You will be responsible for the delivery of housing management services and the safe running of the service on a day to day basis; ensure clients are well informed so that they can communicate their needs and views and make informed choices. The support that you deliver will take into account the needs, rights and aspirations of the clients. You will be required to work in a safe professional way and adhere to all guidelines and polices.
You will need good communication skills and experience of working in housing management or a similar area of work.
