This group of residents, board members and staff shapes, reviews and comments on the articles and design of any publications when we communicate with customers. They also have the opportunity to participate in Westcountry's website reviews.
The Communications Group's main role is to plan layout, design and content of the residents newsletter Tarka Times. They meet four times a year to do this, alongside some design and proof reading work on tenant handbook leaflets. These are distributed to Westcountry renting residents, supported clients and home owners.
In addition they also work with the Communications Team to produce the Annual Report to residents.
It is a very friendly and informal group whose members say they find it a really satisfying experience seeing their work produced in print. They receive training and agree to the group's Terms of Reference.
The Communications Group actively seeks articles and other contributions from Westcountry customers - let us know if you have news you would like to be included and we'll be in touch.
The residents on the Communications Group proof read all Westcountry's publications to check that they are written in plain English and are well designed. So for anyone with an interest in news and photos, this is an excellent group to join to gain more of the necessary skills.
