Tenant Panel

New Chair of Tarka Tenants Panel

Julia Bowden, Chair of Tenant Panel

Hi!

My name is Julia Bowden. I live in Broadwoodwidger, which is near Roadford Lake. I was a teacher and childminder and have had various other jobs.

I first got involved with Tarka as I felt rural areas were sometimes forgotten and I wanted to change that. I have four children aged between 15 and 21.

I became a resident Auditor two years ago and have since joined other resident panels and am now Chair of the Tenant Panel. I am also a debt counsellor.  I am 43 years old.

I hope other tenants feel that they can also make a difference by getting involved and having their say, I would be glad to talk to anyone about the ways in which they can do that.

The Tenant Panel meet monthly and discuss a wide range of issues. Any tenant of Tarka Housing can join if they would like to.

The Tenant Panel meet on the first Wednesday of each month, for more information please contact Customer Involvement on 01237 428080.

The Tenant Panel has revised its constitution and code of conduct. It was drafted by a Tenant Panel nominated working group, and agreed and ratified at the Tenant Panel Extraordinary General Meeting held on 6th July 2011. Both documents were adopted unanimously by the panel. The tenant panel Annual General Meeting, to be held on 3rd August 2011, will be subject to the condition and codes set out in both documents which are now fully enforced.
