Tarka Housing will continuously work towards improving its services. It will ask tenants for their views on the quality of the services being provided and implement, where it is possible to do so, suggested changes that would improve the service.

To improve the housing management service Tarka Housing will:

  •  Enforce Tenancy Agreement conditions
  •  Strengthen the management services so that firm effective action is taken and that new ways are introduced to tackle Anti social Behaviour
  • Comply with equal opportunities legislation and best practice
  • Carry out ‘exit surveys’ for tenants leaving homes or transferring to another Tarka Housing home
  • Consider a scheme for maintenance of individual gardens for tenants who qualify.
  • Carry out customer care training for all staff employed by Tarka Housing
  • Take Housing services out to tenants throughout the district with drop in surgeries.
  • Provide more ways to access services & information, including the use of the internet
  • Provide a friendly, easily accessible public reception area where tenants can have face to face contact with relevant officers to assist them when necessary.
  • Provide greater choice in how to pay rent
  • Arrange for regular estate inspections.
